The UWAA Benefit Plan is available to all non-profit health and human service organizations in the Portland four-county-area. The benefit plan year begins April 1st and ends March 31st. Currently there are 31 United Way of the Columbia Willamette Agencies and Affiliate Agencies that participate - which includes over 1200 employees as of 2008. Additionally all plans include coverage for domestic partners.
The United Way Agencies Association has appointed a HealthCare Committee that monitors and reviews the plans and any issues that may arise throughout the year with their broker and actuary and proposes plans to the agencies for a vote in early November.
The benefit plans offered through the United Way Agencies Association reflect the voting wishes of the participating agencies. Plans have been designed so that agencies and employees may enroll according to their individual medical needs, choosing between the following options:
- 4 Medical Plans
- 3 Dental Plans
- Vison
- Voluntary Life Insurance
- Conseco Accident Insurance
- Pre-Paid Legal
- Identity Theft
- Agency Selected: Employee Assistance Program (check with your HR Dept)
- Section 125-Pre-tax benefits
Your eligibility and your Agencies' contribution are determined by the Agency in which you are employed. Family members must be covered on the same plan that you choose.
